Growing up,

we had a magnolia tree in our backyard. It was tall enough that I could reach out and pluck a petal off a small branch from my sister’s upstairs bedroom window.

In the spring, the trees bloom large flowers that gradient from pink to white. The flowers come early in the season, usually blooming well before the tulips.

This past weekend, I got out my dog’s harness and we went for a sunrise walk to capture the beauty of the magnolia trees in our area.
